The only species in the east with this appearance (forward-pointing horn). Hind legs are spiny, front legs are leaf-like.

This little guy was between 1 and 2 inches long, and only extended his eyestalks a little bit. Definitely a lot smaller (both in length & girth) than the banana slugs we see around here.
Found this small animal in this marshy area; in a spot bone-dry last month.
Interesting bug in a wall, with transparencies in its body and metallic colors.
