I am a biologist, diver and photographer currently based in Nova Scotia. I taught Invertebrate Biology as an Instructor at Dalhousie University, but my formal scientific background is in the realm of fish ecology; specifically, I wrote my MSc. thesis on the migration of Canadian Atlantic salmon smolts in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. My other related experience comes from the University of Saskatchewan and includes aquatic insect taxonomy, amphibian husbandry, and small mammal trapping.
Currently, I am employed by the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society to undertake aquatic and sometimes terrestrial species surveys.
I have a heavy interest in Cnidarians, specifically the Siphonophores, and broadly arthropods, but Diplopoda, Ephemeroptera, and Crustaceans are all close to the heart.
