iNaturalist is a great way to learn about the nature you can find in your neighborhood or really anywhere in the world. I've been using it for a few years now and I'm hooked on it! Even though I've spent countless hours exploring Miami-Dade County, from urban areas to the Everglades and Biscayne Bay, I am still amazed by how often I see something I had no idea existed-- whether I find it myself or somebody else uploads it to iNaturalist. Seeing biodiversity first-hand is a lot of fun but it's just as fun to see what other people find :-)

Please help make iNaturalist a better tool by checking out this link with tips from an iNaturalist expert:

Latest youtube video on bird migration in South Florida:

About me: Born & raised in Miami, Fl. I teach Portuguese & Italian at a high school and commute to work and most places by bicycle. Over the years I've learned to appreciate nature in all of its forms. I started off by paying attention to birds and would always notice an interesting insect or flower while birding and iNaturalist gave me a way to ID what I was finding and learn more.
