As seen on this picture, the shepherd's purse (or capsella bursa-pastoris) shares its most recent ancestor with 19 other species like Capsella rubella for example. A recent adaptation that this plant has and that seems to be quite unique among my observations is the fact that it keeps blooming all year round. Finally, I have found that the common adaptation to all of my species is their type of metabolism : the colors of the leaves I observed (green) allowed me to deduce that all of those plants are able to perform photosynthesis in order to produce organic matter.
